FILM REVIEW: “THE FACULTY”
“The Faculty” is a mockumentary-style short about the hysterical lives of educators and their time in between classes. Following Lexi Eiting, an enthusiastic teacher that recently joined the faculty, we get to see the zany coworkers, parents, and administrators she will need to work with….
This pilot balances humor and heart, subtly exploring the unsung heroes of education while still remaining lighthearted and fun. Not everyone needs to be involved in teaching to appreciate the hilarious relatability of this film’s workplace problems. Chandler Austin’s performance as the new teacher, Lexi, really gives audiences a character to relate to as she navigates through the various personalities she comes across. Furthermore, her straight-forward performance as the voice of reason really lets the other cast members in this ensemble truly shine.
Although very different, character’s such as Danielle Bingham (Ischa Bee) and Rhonda Parker (Marianne Austin) provided this show with such a wide variety of personalities that truly made for a good laugh.
This film had an overall wonderful flow to its comedic timing, and solidly landed on every punchline. “The Faculty” is quirky, entertaining, funny, and a must-watch for anyone looking for a good laugh.
